ABOUT
During my BFA program, I discovered a love for printmaking and was surprised to find myself drawn to traditional techniques such as bookmaking, despite being digitally oriented. I enjoyed experimenting with various processes and exploring the possibilities of the medium.

Designmaker
Zine
As a personal project and a means of self-identification, I crafted this zine to showcase a term I coined as "designmaker." This word is a blend of "designer" and "printmaker," reflecting my unique blend of contrasting practices. Despite the distinct nature of digital design and printmaking, I draw upon my printmaking experience to inform and enrich my digital design practice.

The flight of the kūaka
This cyanotype mural draws from the migration pattern of the kuaka, (bar-tailed godwit), which undertake the longest migration of any bird species in the world, spanning from Alaska to New Zealand. There is a myth that the early settlers of New Zealand followed the migratory path of these birds to explore and discover the land.

This unique approach aimed to illustrate the experience of growing up in a western country and how many Chinese children born in western countries may lose their mother tongue but retain remnants of the language in different ways.
